A Visit with Santa
Our ward Christmas party had a visit from Santa. Lydia made sure to tell Santa that she wanted lots of princesses and two bikes so she and her friends could each have one. Tommy was not as happy about sitting with Santa.

"My too busy"
Our morning conversation after a diaper change and getting dressed today:
Me: Lydia, will you please put your dirty diaper in the trash and your jammies in the dirty laundry for me?
Lydia: No do this. My too busy. You do it own self.
I can't think of a time I've told her that bluntly that I'm too busy to help her with something. Maybe some more quality time is in order...

Sibling Interactions
In the last week or two, Lydia has shown interest in wanting to say prayers at mealtime. She asks to say the prayer and says "Heavenly Father. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
At this point we tell her great job, but we should add a few things in the middle. She then will parrot back what we help her say. It's fun to see how excited she gets to say a prayer!
Tommy, during this same time, has started really chattering with baby talk. It's been fun to hear him babble. Nobody can make him smile and laugh the way Lydia can. I feel lucky to get to watch the two of them interact with each other.

Big Sister Moment
Lydia is working on her super sister skills and is living up to her shirt. Today when Tommy went down for a nap, she offered her teddy bear to him to share. This is the bear she sleeps with whenever she naps or goes to sleep for the night. She wanted to share it with him and tucked it next to him in his crib. I love getting a glimpse at what this little girl is becoming.
