Sweet Goodnights

The last few nights, Lydia has been melting my heart at bedtime. Two nights ago, as Collin and I were leaving her room after tucking her in, she looks up at us with the sweetest eyes and gives a tiny little wave goodbye. It was adorable!

Last night, she upped the ante. She has been trying to talk for a while now, but has yet to say any words reliably. As I said goodnight last night, however, she said "ovv ouu!" It sounded dead on "Love you!" She even had the intonations down pat. My heart just melts over and over the more I get to see Lydia's personality. I'm so grateful to be blessed with such a sweet spirit to raise as a daughter!

Just for fun, this is how I found Lydia while she was waking up from a nap one day. She reminded me of a little cat curled up on top of the pillow.

Twinner Cousins

When Maya came over to play today, she was wearing an outfit given to her by her Grandma Marsha. Lydia was given a matching outfit, so I couldn't resist having them be matchy-matchy. They look to me like they could be sisters rather than cousins!

Shoe Girl

Lydia is already showing signs of becoming a shoe girl. We bought her new Sunday shoes today and she carried them around the store until we checked out. She then gave the cashier the shoes so we could buy them, and offered her arm for the cashier to put the bag on it. We walked across the mall to where we were parked with Lydia carrying her own shoe bag the whole way. As soon as she got home, she wanted to wear them and then went to find and play with her other shoes. And so it begins!
